Letter: More time to teach, less time on testing

Published 12:00 am Tuesday, December 26, 2006

No Child Left Behind is another one of George W. Bush’s asinine policies. In my day, if a kid could not pass then he was not promoted. That is the way it still should be. The teachers spend too much of their time trying to get the kids to pass the stupid End of Grade test. They need to be spending their time teaching the kids the things they need to learn in whatever grade they are in. God bless all of our teachers and assistants and staff for the great job they do. They are all only human and can do only so much. Send the tests home to the parents and make them responsible for the kids passing it.
