Perry Eugene Peeler

SALISBURY – Perry Eugene Peeler, 50, of Salisbury, died Saturday Dec. 16, 2006 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Peeler was born April 16, 1956 in Rowan County, son of Hoy Peeler, Jr. and Josephine Earnhardt Peeler of Salisbury. He graduated from East Rowan High School in 1973. He waqs a maintenance mechanic with Rowan County, a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and loved hunting and collecting ducks. Mr. Peeler was a veteran of Desert Storm, serving in the transportation unit #846 in the U.S. Army.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Michelle Peeler and a stepfather, Monroe Rumple.

Survivors in addition to his parents are his wife, Dena Willis Peeler, who he married April 16, 2006; two daughters, Jamie Peeler of Salisbury and Kimberly Dawn Peeler of Kannapolis; one brother Tony Dale Peeler of Salisbury; one sister Sandra Lane of Salisbury; two stepdaughters, Karen Olvera and Kimberly Guske of Richfield. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Powles Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Gene Beaver. Burial will be at Bookhill Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites conducted by the Rowan County Honor Guard.

Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Powles Funeral Home and the remainder of the time at the residence.
