The flu is here.

It’s the peak of flu season, and to meet the needs of the community, Cabarrus Family Medicine (CFM) has begun offering its flu vaccine to non-patients.

The cost of the vaccine will be $30; insurance will only be filed for Medicare and CFM patients.

Anyone is welcome to stop by any of the Cabarrus Family Medicine clinics during regular office hours to get a flu shot. No appointment is necessary.

Shots will also be given at CFM’s nighttime and weekend clinic at their 270 Copperfield Blvd. location in Concord, weekdays, 6-8 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m.-noon; and Sunday 1-5 p.m.

Flu shots will be given during the following regular Cabarrus Family Medicine office hours:

* Mount Pleasant, Concord, Kannapolis and Harrisburg offices: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

* Poplar Tent office: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., except closed Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m.

* Richfield office: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., except closed Thursdays at 12:30 p.m.

* Albemarle office: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Cabarrus Family Medicine, PA is a multi-clinic group that provides comprehensive family health care.

CFM was founded in 1983 as Mount Pleasant Family Physicians, and has grown to include seven sites in Cabarrus and Stanly counties, with 38 medical doctors, 10 physician assistants and two family nurse practitioners.

CFM also provides the faculty and training sites for Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency Program, a joint venture with NorthEast Medical Center.

CFM’s seven clinics are situated in Concord, Mt. Pleasant, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Richfield and Albemarle. In addition to their family practice centers, CFM also provides services for mental health needs through their Psychological and Behavioral Health office located in Concord. Another addition to their network is the Sports Medicine and Injury Center, located at their Poplar Tent site in Concord.
