Ruby Sheelor Pinkston, 71, 5963 Yale Ave., died Friday (Dec. 8, 2006) at her home after weeks of declining health.

Born on Sept. 18, 1935, in Lancaster County, S.C., Mrs. Pinkston was a daughter of the late Boston and Salie Sheelor.

She had worked as a home health caretaker for Good Health Services and retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Plant 1.

Survivors include husband Charles R. Pinkston; daughter Darlene Pinkston Alexander, China Grove; son Robert Jeff Pinkston, Kannapolis; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. today (Dec. 13, 2006), Sills Creek AME Zion Church, Moorseville, conducted by the Rev. Jordan Boyd. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 12:30-1 p.m. today at the church.
