CHINA GROVE — Donald Lee Shelton, 86, Goose Creek, S.C., formerly of China Grove, died Dec. 5, 2006, at Trident Medical Center, North Charleston, S.C.

Born June 17, 1920, in Logan, W.Va., Mr. Shelton was a son of the late John Marion and Beatrice Allen Shelton.

Educated in the Logan schools, he retired in 1982 as an engineer for C.O. Railway. He was a Baptist.

His wife, Alberta Spears Shelton, died March 1, 2003.

Survivors include son Ronald Shelton, China Grove; daughter Linda Sammons, Goose Creek, S.C.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A service was held Sunday (Dec. 10, 2006) at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Lance. Burial, West Lawn Memorial Park.
