CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Wayne Wyatt, 79, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, in a local hospital. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;A native of Salisbury, N.C., Mr. Wyatt served his country as a signalman for the United States Navy during World War II. After serving in the military, he attended Catawba College in Salisbury. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and served as a deacon. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Wayne retired with more than 37 years of service from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a general foreman over the diesel shop. He was a charter member of Chattanooga Area Relic Hunters Association. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to ride four wheelers. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Mathey Wyatt. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Survivors include his wife, Nancy Weant Wyatt; daughters Dale (Freddy) Hilliard of Ooltewah, Tenn., Joy (Bob) Colby of Apison, Tenn., Jill (Jeff) Brown of Cleveland, Tenn.; grandchildren Matthew (Erica) Hilliard, Lindsey Hilliard, Lauren and Steven Colby, Lucas Brown; great-granddaughter Brooklyn Hilliard; sisters Neveda Seawell, of Salisbury, N.C., Carolyn Fonseca, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Service: Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Baptist Church (Bonny Oaks Drive) with the Rev. Ken Clark and Joe Sanchez officiating.
