Roy Lee Fletcher

Roy Lee Fletcher, 91, East 10th Street, died Nov. 27, 2006, at Transitional Health Services.

Born Aug. 17, 1915, in Melville, La., Mr. Fletcher was a son of the late Robert Lee and Eliza Cockhran Fletcher.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired after 43 years in the Card Room at Cannon Mills Plant 4.

He was a member of Charity Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife Mary Hartsoe Fletcher; daughter Mary Sain, China Grove; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A service was held Friday (Dec. 1, 2006) at Charity Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Beaver Hammond and the Rev. Gene Beaver. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Whitley’s Funeral Home was in charge.
