ROCKWELL — Mary Lucille James Lyles, 82, 4285 Highway 152 E., died Saturday (Dec. 2, 2006) at her home.

Born Nov. 23, 1924, in Richmond County, Mrs. Lyles was a daughter of the late Henry Luther and Addie Frances Best James.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Herman George Franklin Lyles, died July 19, 1994; and three grandchildren also preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters Brenda Lyles Faires, Peachland, Mary Lyles Tarlton, Camden, S.C., and Delores Lyles Gambrell, Salisbury; sons Marvin Lyles, Rockwell, George Lyles, Charlotte, and David Lyles, of the home; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

A service was held Tuesday (Dec. 5, 2006) at Lady’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Lamar Parton. Burial, West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.
