Mary Agnes Mullis

Mary Agnes Mullis, 81, Kannapolis, died Nov. 28, 2006, at her home.

Born Nov. 20, 1925, in Rowan County, Mrs. Mullis was a daughter of the late Robert Otto and Mary Alice Harwood Gurley.

She worked in the Spinning Room 1 at Cannon Mills Plant 1 for 39 years, retiring in 1985.

She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church.

Her husband, Johnnie Franklin Mullis, died in 1984, and a great-grandchild, Geoffrey Michael Beck, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters Sharon Haithcock, Rockwell, and Vickie L. Johnson, Kannapolis; sister Alice Louise Ridenhour, Mooresville; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A service was held Friday (Dec. 1, 2006) at Temple Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Terry Dietz and the Rev. Curtis Parker. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Whitley’s Funeral Home was in charge.
