Letter: Using the Bible to attack others

Anne Stanback and the entire Stanback family are indeed role models to us all! This family has stood for personal, civic and philanthropic responsibility and generosity for the nearly 50 years I have known them.
The many examples of their giving of their time, treasure and good example make a list that is staggering in its length and breadth. (See Dunn’s Mountain story, Nov. 30 Salisbury Post.)
It offends us and many others when narrow people cherry-pick the Bible to judge and attack others. We suggest these people read “When Religion Becomes Dangerous” by Charles Kimball or “Letter to a Christian Nation” by Sam Harris.
They might learn that others have a very different view of morality from their own.
