Approximately 60 people joined staff from the LandTrust for Central North Carolina and the Piedmont Land Conservancy on a hike in the Uwharrie Mountains on New Year's Day. The moderate hike of approximately 3 miles was held on the LandTrust's 290-acre property that adjoins the Birkhead Wilderness Area in the Uwharrie National Forest.
