Titi Foster Carter Bailey
MOCKSVILLE Titi Foster
Carter Bailey, 87, Fork Bixby Road, died Sunday (Sept. 19, 1999) at Forsyth Medical
Center, Winston-Salem.
Born May 23, 1912, in Davie
County, Mrs. Bailey was a daughter of the late William Giles and Sallie Livengood Foster.
She retired from Cooleemee Manufacturing Co. A member of Fork Baptist Church, she attended
Elbaville United Methodist Church and was active with the senior citizens at both
churches.
Her first husband, Morrison L.
Carter, died in 1933, and her second husband, Cicero S. Bailey, died in 1981. A son, Bobby
Bailey, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons Jack and
Gray Carter, both of Advance, and Joe Bailey, Mocksville; daughters Peggy Rummage,
Lexington, Dorothy Sowers, Winston-Salem, and Sallie Buie, Denton; brother Buddie Foster,
Advance; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday,
Elbaville United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jack Wallace and the Rev. Rusty
Morrison. Burial, church cemetery.

Helen O. Tillie
Bostian, a Spencer native, died Sunday (Sept. 19, 1999) at Forest Lake Health Care,
Augusta, Ga.
The daughter of the late Mittie
Lou Lanning Lomax Crowe and Noah Hezekiah Lomax, Mrs. Bostian attended Draughton Business
College and retired from the administrative staff of Kannapolis City Schools. She was a
member of the North Carolina Retired Teachers Association as well as the national group.
Prior to her move to Augusta, Ga., she was a volunteer at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, now
NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, where she was president of the volunteer organization.
She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Augusta, Ga., and a former
member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, where she sang in the choir and
taught Sunday school.
Her husband, Herman C. Bostian,
preceded her in death.
Survivors include son Barry Max
Bostian, Orlando, Fla.; daughter Betty Bostian Boliek, Augusta, Ga.; four grandchildren;
and one great-grandson.

Mary Howard Denham
The funeral will be Wednesday for
Mary Elizabeth Howard Denham, 68, Salisbury, who died Sunday (Sept. 19, 1999) at Rowan
Regional Medical Center after six years of declining health and two weeks of serious
illness.
Born July 8, 1931, in Rowan
County, Mrs. Denham was a daughter of the late John Dobbins and Claudia Leigh Gardner
Howard. Educated in the Rowan County schools, she was a homemaker and a Baptist.
A son, Clarence Sylvester Daniels
Jr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include husband Carl
Franklin Denham, whom she married July 19, 1965; other sons Carl Franklin Daniels,
Charlotte, William Scott Daniels, Thomasville, and Ray Anthony Daniels, Salisbury;
daughters Claudia Fraley and Debbie Blamberg, both of Salisbury, Doris Poteat, Rockwell,
and Jackie Patricia and Benicia Diane Denham, both of the home; 15 grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren.

Westpark Baptist Church, Rockwell.

Marvin Franklin Lovette
The funeral will be Wednesday for
Marvin Franklin Lovette, 66, 906 Hidden Circle Creek, who died Sunday (Sept. 19, 1999) at
Genesis ElderCare after a period of declining health.
Born Jan. 29, 1933, in Rowan
County, Mr. Lovette was a son of the late Raymond Monroe and Lillian Patterson Lovette.
Educated in Cabarrus County schools and the Institute of Government in Chapel Hill, he
retired as a telecommunicator with the N.C. Highway Patrol. He later retired as a manager
for LaSalle Deitch.
He was a member of Enon Baptist
Church and formerly Faith Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school superintendent
and deacon. He was also a former deacon at Friendship Baptist Church and a former member
of Faith Civitan Club, where he twice served as president and was named Civitan of the
Year in 1974 and 1987. He was also a member of Keller Masonic Lodge, Rockwell, and York
Rite Bodies and Oasis Shrine. He retired as captain with the South Salisbury Volunteer
Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Betty
Brooks Lovette, whom he married Aug. 31, 1958; son Stephen Kent Lovette, Rockwell;
daughter Marvie Lovette Cartner, Wilkesboro; brother Everett Monroe Lovette, Charlotte;
and three grandchildren.

Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Randall Dockins, interim pastor, and Dr. Jim Harris.

Ruth Furr Morris
ALBEMARLE Ruth Furr Morris,
92, 620 Heathwood Drive, died Monday (Sept. 20, 1999) at Forrest Oaks Healthcare Center.
Born June 26, 1907, in Stanly
County, Mrs. Morris was a daughter of the late Marshall Filmore and Nora Dennis Furr. She
retired as a spinner from Wiscassett Mills, where she had worked for over 55 years. She
was a member of North Albemarle Baptist Church.
Her husband, Olin Davis Morris,
preceded her in death.
Survivors include son Charles Lane
Morris, New Orleans, La.; brother Tommy Furr, Albemarle; sister Pauline Burleson,
Albemarle; and two grandchildren.

Schultz, 70, Massillon, Ohio, died Sunday (Sept. 19, 1999) at St. Lukes Lutheran
Home, North Canton, Ohio, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Noxapater, Miss., Mrs.
Schultz was a daughter of the late Homer and Mamie McCool. She was reared in Kannapolis
and Landis. She was a retired nurse.
An active member of St.
Pauls Lutheran Church, she served on various committees. She was also an active
member and served on the board of trustees of Massillon Womans Club and a member and
volunteer of William McKinley Mental Health Society.
Survivors include husband Edward
A. Schultz; sons John Schultz, Evansville, Ind., and David Schultz, North Canton, Ohio;
sister Irene Beaver, Landis; and five grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, St.
Pauls Lutheran Church, Massillon, Ohio, conducted by the Rev. Robert J. Groenke Jr.
and the Rev. Karen Tews. The body will be placed in the church at 10. Burial, church
cemetery.
