First Place, Facebook Contest $100 winner: The Drum Major, benefitting the Mini Funk Factory at Overton Elementary school by Anthony Johnson. Mr. Johnson, a technology and music teacher at Overton, started the Mini Funk Factory just a year ago with 8 children, and it has grown into a full marching band, the only one in an elementary school in North and South Carolina, recently performing at The Battle of the Bands in Winston-Salem. Johnson believes in the power of music, and acting as a male role model for at risk children to keep them engaged in school. Contact: 704 639-3000
