Depot St., died Friday (Oct. 29, 1999) at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle.
Born April 17, 1947, in Robeson
County, Mr. Bartley was a son of the late Mary Maglene Hunt and Harvey Bartley. He was a
shipping foreman with Carolina Stalite.
Survivors include wife Judith
JudyGregory Bartley; sons Clay Bartley, Salisbury, and Jamie Bartley, who is
serving with the U.S. Army in Germany; daughters Danette Goodman and Teresa Rabon, both of
Albemarle; brothers Franklin Buddy Bartley, Eagle Lake, Fla., and Harvey
Junior, Monk and Tommy Lee Bartley, all of Greensboro; sisters Janie Mae Caswell,
Whiteville, Bell Hammonds, Greensboro, Pearlie Parker, Gold Hill, and Clara Belle Sellers,
Chadbourn; and three grandchildren.
Services:11 a.m. Monday, Hartsell
Funeral Home, Albemarle, conducted by the Rev. Franklin Buddy Bartley. Burial,
Gold Hill Cemetery, Gold Hill.
Visitation:7-9 p.m. Sunday, at the
funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence.

KANNAPOLIS - Patricia Lynn Foster,
71, 6443 Roanoke Drive, died Friday (Oct. 29, 1999) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord,
after three days of serious illness.
Whitleys Funeral Home is in

Nancy Adelaide Mahaley
Nancy Adelaide Mahaley, 66,
Salisbury, died Thursday (Oct. 28, 1999)at her home.
Born May 30, 1933, in Rowan
County, she was a daughter of the late Pauline Coggin and Julias A. Mahaley. A 1948
graduate of Boyden High School, she had retired as a bookkeeper with Isenhour-Freeman
Realty. After her retirement, she was employed by the Senior Services Department of
Rufty-Holmes Senior Center. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by companion Larry
Morefield, of the home.
Services:Graveside, 11 a.m.
Tuesday, Chestnut Hill Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Tom Roberts. The body will be
cremated.
There will be no visitation.

George Coolidge Phipps, 75, 635
Statesville Ave., died Thursday (Oct. 28, 1999) at the Brian Center, Salisbury.
Born July 4, 1924, in China Grove,
Mr. Phipps was a son of the late Beulah Lowder and Charles Phipps. Educated in the Landis
schools, he had retired as a service station attendant at Toms Texaco, Landis. He
was a member of Corriher Heights Baptist Church.
He is survived by a brother, Elmer
Phipps, Landis.
