GwenLynch Bowden, 55, Rockwell, died Wednesday (Oct. 27, 1999) at Presbyterian
Hospital, Charlotte.
Born March 9, 1944, in Rowan County, Mrs. Bowden
was a daughter of the late Grace Watson and Norwood W. Lynch. A graduate of East Rowan
High School, she also attended Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She was manager of
Jackson-Hewitt Tax Service, Spencer, and a member of Dunns Mountain Baptist Church.
Survivors include husband Opie C. Bowden; son
Brent Bowden, of the home; daughter Crystal Lee Bowden, Rockwell; sisters Margaret White,
Texas, and Sylvia Morris, Pennsylvania; and a granddaughter.

Doris Thompson Brown
Doris Ann Thompson Brown, 65, 4223 16th St. N.E.,
Hickory, formerly of Salisbury, died Tuesday (Oct. 26, 1999) at Vencor
Hospital,Greensboro.
Born Dec. 17, 1933, in Salisbury, Mrs. Brown was a
daughter of the late Charles F. and Evelyn Miller Thompson. A homemaker, she was a member
of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hickory.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Howard
H.D. Brown; daughter Mrs. Barry (Lori)Myers, Salisbury; son Steven Brown, New
Orleans; brother Charles E. Thompson, Salisbury; sister Patsy Thompson Kent, Salisbury;
and five grandchildren.
Services: 2:30 p.m. Friday, St. Pauls
Lutheran Church, Hickory, conducted by the Rev. Walter Hitchcock and Dr. Joe Glass. The
body will be placed in the church at 2. Burial, Rowan Memorial Park.

Annie Mae Smith Gibson
CHINA GROVE Annie Mae Smith Gibson, 85,
formerly of 512 Westside Circle, died Monday (Oct. 25, 1999)at NorthEast Medical Center,
Concord.
Born Feb. 7, 1914, in Crawfordville, Ga., she was
a daughter of the late Lucy Ann Veasley and Paul Smith. Educated in the public schools of
Georgia, she was a retired domestic worker.
A former member of St. John Baptist Church,
Inwood, Long Island, N.Y., she was a current member of Oakgrove Baptist Church, where she
was a senior missionary and a member of the Pastors Aide, the Senior Choir, the
Sunday school and the Youth Council. She was a member of the Community Club and the Senior
Citizens Club.
Survivors include brother Elder Otis Smith,
Hickory, and sister Margaret Davis, Farrockaway,N.Y.
Services:2 p.m. Saturday, Oakgrove Baptist Church,
conducted by the Rev. James Smith and the Rev. Otis Smith. Burial in church cemetery.
Visitation: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at the church. At
other times the family will be at the home of a niece, Kathy Hill, 402 Candlewick Drive,
Salisbury.

ALBEMARLE - Callie Louise Moyle Huneycutt, 84,
32189 Flint Ridge Road, died Wednesday (Oct. 27, 1999) at Britthaven of the Piedmont.
Born May 5, 1915, in Stanly County, Mrs. Huneycutt
was a daughter of the late Grace Eudy and William Franklin Moyle. She was a homemaker and
attended Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Her husband, Philas William Huneycutt, preceded
her in death.
Survivors include sons Donnie G. Huneycutt,
Albemarle, and John V. Huneycutt, Weatherford, Texas; three grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.

Marman Lee Keller
MOORESVILLE - Marman Lee Keller, 70, 352 Mackwood
Road, died Tuesday (Oct. 26, 1999) at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
Born May 12, 1929, in Rowan County, he was a son
of the late Ida Meadows and Robert D. Keller. He was a retired floor coverer.
A daughter, Melanie Keller, died in 1981.
Survivors include sons Matthew and Markos Keller,
both of Mooresville; brothers Edgar and Bob Keller, both of Mooresville; sisters Thelma
Hobbs and Joyce Wright, both of Mooresville; and six grandchildren.

was a daughter of the late Thelma Baucom and Allen Harrington. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Johnny H. Miller, died in 1982.
