Missing man could be heading toward Florida

KANNAPOLIS — A missing Kannapolis man and his 4-month-old puppy were last seen Saturday at Kmart Super Center in Concord, his sister said.

People from as far away as South Carolina have called Kannapolis Police to say they believe they have seen the man.

“We’re having a lot of calls from all the media coverage we’re getting,” Sgt. Rick Towell said Tuesday morning.

Noel Matthew “Matt” Harrison, 33, of 2409 Pennsylvania Ave., was reported missing Friday morning. His sister, JoAnn Marie Harrison, had seen him the night before around 11 p.m.

Harrison left sometime during the night with Princess, a female chow-Rottweiler mix. The dog is 4 to 5 months old.

Harrison, also his legal guardian, said her brother left without money and without medicine he must take to control epileptic seizures. He had never left home before.

“Yesterday when I got home there was a note on my door,” Harrison said. “He had went in super Kmart and asked for directions.”

Matt Harrison may be heading to 84 Fern Lane, Lake Worth, Fla., where he lived for 10 years with his late mother. He has lived with his sister for about two months.

Kannapolis Police do not believe Harrison left on a bus or train.

Harrison may be carrying a black nylon backpack with a Tweetie Bird logo on it. He was last seen wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

Anyone who has information can reach the Kannapolis Police Department at 704-933-2211.
