Bryant, 88, formerly of Spencer, died Tuesday (Oct. 19, 1999)at Brightmoor Nursing Center,
Salisbury.
Born April 10, 1911, in Indiana, Mrs. Bryant was a
daughter of the late Henrietta and W.T. Kelley. Educated in Somerset, Ky., schools, Mrs.
Bryant was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Spencer.
Her husband, S.M. Rusty Bryant, died
April 17, 1972; a son, David L. Bryant, died April 19, 1991.
Survivors include daughter Mrs. Donald (Patricia)
Bryant Everhart, Spencer; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Paul Marshall Curry
EAST SPENCER Paul Marshall Curry,
Smyrna,Ga., a former East Spencer resident, died Tuesday (Oct. 21, 1999) at Floyd Medical
Center, Rome,Ga., after an extended illness.
Born Nov. 22, 1922, in East Spencer, Mr. Curry was
a son of the late Marshall Lewis and Sarah Kelly Curry. A graduate of Dunbar High School,
he retired as a bus driver from the city of New York. He was a Lutheran and served in the
U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include son Paul Curry Jr., Toledo,
Ohio; daughters Tracy McCargo, Smyrna, Ga., and Geraldine Davis, Mapleton, Ga.; sisters
Martha Briley, Salisbury, and Evelyn Curry Prelotte, East Spencer; and two grandchildren.

Duttera, 88, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., formerly of Salisbury, who died Sunday (Sept. 25,
1999) in Florida.

KANNAPOLIS The funeral will be Friday for
Irene Casper Farmer, 88, 908 E. 13th St., who died Wednesday (Oct. 20, 1999) at NorthEast
Medical Center, Concord.
Born Jan. 9, 1911, in Rowan County, Mrs. Farmer
was a daughter of the late W.A. and Ada Shuping Casper. She retired after 57 years with
Cannon Mills plant 4 cloth room. A member of First Free Will Baptist Church, she was
active until her health failed. She previously served on the advisory board and was past
president of the Ladies Auxiliary and Joyful Citizens. She once taught in the primary
department.
Her husband, F. Marion Farmer, died in March 1972.
Survivors include daughter Mrs. Earl (Marjorie)
Register, Kannapolis; son C. Ralph Farmer, of the home; sister Mrs. M.O. (Edna) Beaver,
China Grove; brother V.S. Casper, Salisbury; three grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. Lena Mae Goodman, 84,
Louisville, Ky., formerly of Salisbury, died Wednesday (Oct. 20, 1999) at Rockford Manor,
Louisville, Ky.
Born March 2, 1915, in Rowan County, N.C., Mrs.
Goodman was a daughter of the late David Hampton and Bertha Mae File Winecoff. Retired,
she had been a sales clerk with Miladys Womens Apparel in Salisbury, N.C. She was a
member of First United Methodist Church of Salisbury and Bethany United Methodist Church,
Louisville.
Her husband, Emerson Clayton Goodman, died Feb.
20, 1978.
Survivors include son Robert C. Goodman,
Louisville.; sister Elizabeth Scearce, Salisbury, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

Street, died Wednesday (Oct. 20, 1999) at her residence.
Born Sept. 14, 1916, in Davie County, Mrs. Ijames
was a daughter of the late Nora Spry and W. Albert Smith. A homemaker, she was a member of
Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd of Cooleemee.
Her husband, Glenn Ijames, died in 1987.

82, 24724 Highway 52 S., died Wednesday (Oct. 20, 1999) at Stanly Memorial Hospital.
Born July 26, 1917, in Cabarrus County, Mrs.
Johnson was a daughter of the late James Franklin and Pearl Vandora Earnhardt Leonard.
Retired from American &Efird Mills, she was a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church.
Her first husband, Lee Franklin Ribelin, and
second husband, John Frank Johnson, preceded her in death.

Main Street, died Tuesday (Oct. 19, 1999) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical
Center, Winston-Salem, following a recent heart surgery.
Born March 22, 1929, in Yadkin County, Mrs.
Martin, a daughter of the late John Frank and Gertrude Allgood Martin, attended Mitchell
College. She retired in 1989 after many years with Davie County schools and was a member
of First Baptist Church, Mocksville.
A daughter, Suzanne Ridehour, preceded her in
death.
Survivors include husband R.P. Martin; sons Phil
Martin, Raleigh, and Mark T. Martin, Mocksville; brother Fred Martin, Kannapolis; sisters

Born July 13, 1918, in Surry County, Mr. Walton
was a son of the late Charles Lee and Agnes Davis Walton. Retired, he was last employed by
E.J.Snyder and Co. He attended Fairview Baptist Church and was a member of the National
Federation for the Blind and a past president of the YMCASenior Citizens Club. A veteran
of the U.S. Navy, he served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of
Albemarle-Stanly County DAV and VFW.
His first wife, Ruth Morton Walton, preceded him
in death.
