Mary White Jones BradyThe funeral
will be Thursday for Mary White Jones Brady, 84, Salisbury, who died Tuesday (Oct. 12,
1999) at Genesis ElderCare of Salisbury after a period of declining health.
Born July 11, 1915, in Rowan County, Mrs. Brady
was a daughter of the late James Alfred and Annice Leach Jones. Educated in the Rowan
County schools, she retired from Belk-Harry Co., Salisbury, after 25 years. She was a an
active member of Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a life member of Circle
No. 1 of the church and the Co-workers Class. She was also a member of Order of the
Eastern Star, Salisbury Chapter 117, Rowan County Rose Society and Rowan County
Shrinettes.
Her husband, Paul A. Brady, died Nov. 13, 1993.
Survivors include son Jack A. Brady, Greensboro;
daughter Mary Ann Rascoe, Mint Hill; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Darlene Cates Green, 65, 2506 Dawson St., who died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at NorthEast
Medical Center, Concord, after nine months of declining health and six months of serious
illness.
Born Feb. 12, 1934, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Green
was a daughter of the late Charlie and Emma Duncan Cates. A homemaker, she was a member of
Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include husband Norman Ray
Green; son Charles R. Green, Kannapolis; and two grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Friday, Liberty Baptist Church,
conducted by the Rev. Ralph Robinette. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30.

Hwy. 64 West, died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at her home.
Born Aug. 30, 1928, in Ashe County, Mrs. Lyon was
a daughter of the late Roger and Ida Virginia Johnson Bare. A Presbyterian, she worked at
Monleigh Garment Co. for 32 years.
Survivors include husband Guy Wesley Lyon;
daughters Terry Lyon Markland, Winston-Salem, Patricia Lyon Carter, Advance, Debbie Lyon
Chaffin, Mocksville, and Ritz Ann Lyon Reeves, Augusta, Ga.; brothers Bill Bare,

Born Oct. 18, 1927, in Lexington, Mr. Pitts was a
son of the late William Henry and Grace Moore Pitts. He worked for 39 years at Bethlehem
Steel, retiring as a millwright with the OSHAprogram.He was a member of Statesville
VFWPost 2031 and Stanfield Chapter 68 DAV.

Ritzenthalor, 74, 28758 Canton Road, died Monday (Oct. 11, 1999) at Stanly Memorial
Hospital.
Born June 24, 1925, in Rochester, N.Y., Mr.
Ritzenthalor was a son of the late William and Loretta Huether Ritzenthalor. He was data
processing manager for Rochester Telephone Co. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he received a
Bronze Star for his service in the European Theatre during World War II.
Survivors include daughters Oynettz Ritz, Dayton,
Ohio, and Mrs. Jerry (Nancy) Sprague and Mrs. Vincent (Susan) Terrana, both of Rochester,
N.Y.; sister Edith Carr, Rochester, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

was a son of the late Cora Stewart. He retired as shop foreman from Dixie Furniture Co.,
Lexington, after 46 years. He was a member of Fulton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include wife Frances Allen Stewart; son

grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
