Mary White Jones Brady

Mary White Jones Brady, 82, Salisbury, died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at Genesis ElderCare of Salisbury.

Theresa W. Fields

The funeral will be Thursday for Theresa W. “Mama T.” Fields, 84, 527 N. Cedar St., who died Saturday (Oct. 9, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after 4 1

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, First Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev.Leamon Brown. Burial, National Cemetery, Salisbury.

Visitation: 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Eugene ‘Joe’ Gordon

The funeral will be Wednesday for Eugene “Joe” Gordon, 79, Salisbury, who died Sunday (Oct. 10, 1999) at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.

Born July 8, 1920, in Red House, N.Y., Mr. Gordon was a son of the late Clarence and Gertrude Jimerson Gordon. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A carpenter, he worked for building contractors and retired from Rowan Parks and Recreation. He was a member of the Carpenters Union for over 50 years, a member of Harold B. Jarrett American Legion Post 342 and the VFW, and a full-blooded member of Seneca Indian Nation.

His first wife, Beulah R. Gordon, died Sept. 27, 1967, and his second wife, Eva F. Gordon, died July 24, 1979.

Survivors include son Brian Gordon, Spencer; daughters Judy Goldin and Kristie Everhart, both of Salisbury, and Jackie Pietrowski, Monroe; brother Dana Gordon, Randolph, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Summersett Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev.Don Newman, pastor,Gay’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial, National Cemetery, Salisbury. Military rites by Rowan County Veterans Council.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of son Brian Gordon, 321 Alexander St., Spencer.

Memorials: Donor’s choice.

KANNAPOLIS — Esther Darlene Cates Green, 65, 2506 Dawson St., died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

MOCKSVILLE — Mary Lyon, Highway 64 West, died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at her home.

Nelson Stewart

MOCKSVILLE — Nelson Stewart, 77, Highway 64 East, died Monday (Oct. 11, 1999) at Davie County Hospital.

Eaton Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Isabelle Young Thompson

LEXINGTON — Isabelle Young Thompson, 78, Golden Age Retirement Home, died Monday (Oct. 11, 1999) at the nursing facility.

Born May 24, 1921, in Davidson County, Mrs. Thompson was a daughter of the late Charlie and Jane Ward Young. She was a member of Boone’s Neck Baptist Church.

A son, Jerry W. Miller, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons Kenneth Y. Miller, Salisbury, and C. David Miller, Advance; sisters Mary Louise Swicegood and Pauline Brinkley, both of Churchland; brother Frank Young, Churchland; and four grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Timberlake Chapel, Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Harold Zimmerman.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at their respective homes.

 

Sean Lee Tucker

KANNAPOLIS — Sean Lee Tucker, 2-month-old son of Crystal Leeanne Tucker, 1860 Anson Ave., died Sunday (Oct. 10, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Lady’s Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Chloe Gardner Berg

CONCORD — Chloe Gardner Berg, of Concord, died at birth on June 26, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

She is survived by her parents, Brandy Michel Gardner and Sean Michael Berg, both of Concord; grandparents Jack and Susan Lane of Richfield and Michael and Bridgette Berg of Lugoff, S.C.; great-grandparents Rachel Peeler of Salisbury, Raumell Gardner of El Paso, Texas, Howard Truesdall of Camden, S.C., and Don and Jackie Berg of Chicago.

A graveside service was held Thursday, July 1, 1999, at Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury, conducted by the Rev. David Jones, pastor of Wyatts Grove Baptist Church.
