Pauline Furr Burleson, 81, 812 Elaine Drive, died Friday (Nov. 26, 1999) at Stanly
Memorial Hospital.
Born June 21, 1918, in Stanly County, Mrs.
Burleson was a daughter of the late Lenora Dennis and Marshall Filmore Furr. A cafeteria
manager at Albemarle Senior High School, she was a member of North Albemarle Baptist
Church and the Widows Club.
Her husband, Therlow Burleson, preceded her in
death.
Survivors include son Calvin Burleson, Albemarle;
daughters Nancy Lambert and Lovell Mauldin, both of Albemarle; brother Tommy Furr,
Albemarle; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services:4 p.m. Monday, North Albemarle Baptist
Church, conducted by the Rev. Wyman Bolin, and the Rev. Grady Taylor. Burial, Fairview
Cemetery, Albemarle.

Infant Terri Del-Risha Coleman, 715 Tanglewood
Drive, died Wednesday (Nov. 24, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 24, 1999, in Salisbury, she was a
daughter of Cecilia Stanford, Salisbury.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include
brothers Isiah Stanford and Terry Coleman, both of the home; grandmother Yvonne Stanford,
Salisbury; grandfather Ronald Stanford, Kannapolis; great-grandmothers Gerildine Whitely,
Rockwell, and Pauline Stanford, Kannapolis; step-great-grandfather Roger Whitley,
Rockwell; and step-great-grandmother Gloria Scott, Charlotte.

MOORESVILLE Rose Marie
JackieDavis, 50, Smith Street, died Friday (Nov. 26, 1999)at her residence.
Born Dec. 29, 1948, in Iredell County, she was the
daughter of Dorothy Pender Davis, Mooresville, and the late Harry Eugene Davis. A 1967
graduate of Mooresville High School, she worked at the Mooresville Animal Hospital for 12
years. She also worked for Dr. Pam Sholar and Dr. Lewis Brinton as an insurance clerk. She
had been a member of Mooresville Church of God for 30 years.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include
sisters Mrs. Steve (Judy) Young, Mooresville, and Mrs. Johnny (Cathy) Fowler, Norman,
Okla.

Frances Thompson Eudy
ALBEMARLE Frances Eliza Thompson Eudy, 82,
620 Heathwood Drive, formerly of 105 S. Hill Ave., died Friday (Nov. 26, 1999) at Forest
Oaks Health Care Center, Albemarle.
Born Dec. 4, 1916, in Stanly County, Mrs. Eudy was
a daughter of the late James Clark and Addie Lou Doby Thompson. Retired from Wiscassett
Mill, she was a member of South Albemarle Baptist Church.
Her husband, Julius Claude Eudy, died Sept. 15,
1973.
She is survived by a sister, Pauline T. Wilhoit,
Albemarle.

Church, conducted by the Rev. Yates Brooks, the Rev. Jesse Dennis and the Rev. Wyman
Bolin. The body will be taken to the funeral home at 1:30. Burial, Fairview Memorial Park.

NEW LONDON Ernest Haywood Morris, 89, 36117
Esther Road, died Friday (Nov. 26, 1999) at Forest Oaks Healthcare Center.
Born Sept. 22, 1910, in Stanly County, Mr. Morris
was a son of the late Cora. L. Almond and Barley Baxter Morris. He was owner-operator of
Jeffs Dry Cleaners & Econo-Wash Laundromats in two Albemarle locations for 30
years prior to his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Plyler Baptist Church.
His wife, Camilla Faggart Morris, died in 1969. A
son, Lewis Morris, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughter Annie Lou M. Greeson,
Gibsonville; sons Harry D. and Larry Morris, both of Albemarle; sisters Mrs. Virgil
(Pauline) Burris, New London, and Mrs. Pete (Lessie) Huneycutt and Mrs. James (Beatrice)
Tucker, both of Albemarle; brother Grady Morris, Albemarle; six grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren.

Gary Rice
Gary Rice, 75, 1028 S. Church St., died Friday
(Nov. 26, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 29, 1924, in Chester, S.C., Mr. Rice was
a son of the late Lillie Adkins and Hizzie Rice. Educated in the public schools of
Chester, he had retired as a clerk with Gerocks Grocery Store. He was a member of
First Calvary Baptist Church,.

Doris File Ritchie
Doris Elizabeth File Ritchie, 72, Salisbury, died
Friday (Nov. 26, 1999) at the Salisbury Lutheran Nursing Home, after two years of serious
illness.
Born Dec. 17, 1926, in Rowan County, Mrs. Ritchie
was a daughter of the late Kate Porter and George Alexander File. A graduate of Boyden
High School, she attended Kings College.
Prior to her retirement, she had been a sales
clerk at Efirds department store and Montgomery Wards. She was a member of
Rodgers Park United Church of Christ, Kannapolis, where she was active with the senior
citizens group. She was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club.
Her husband, Henry Richard Ritchie, whom she
married Nov. 23, 1950, died July 27, 1998.
Survivors include son Henry Steven Ritchie and
sister Betty File Holshouser, both of Salisbury.

of Christ, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Donald Menius, pastor. Burial, Rowan Memorial
Park.

LEXINGTON Virgie Julie Smith Thompson, 76,
Adams Street, died Friday (Nov. 26, 1999)at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center
after nine days of serious illness.
Born July 5, 1923, in Davie County, Mrs. Thompson
was a daughter of the late William and Della Allen Smith. She was a homemaker and a member
of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Mocksville.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Tyler
Ross T.R.Thompson; sons Steve, Michael and Danny Thompson, all of Lexington;
brother A.C. Smith, High Point; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
