Eva Hauser GanttEva Hauser Gantt,
94, 820 Klumac Road, formerly of Mitchell Avenue, died Thursday (Nov. 4, 1999) at the
Salisbury Lutheran Home.
Born Sept. 20, 1905, in Salisbury, Mrs. Hauser was
the daughter of the late Theodore Eugene and Annie Melvina Plummer Hauser.
Educated in the Salisbury schools, she worked for
Fuller Furniture Co. in Hickory until she retired. Mrs. Hauser was a member of Haven
Lutheran Church and the Eastern Star in Hickory.
Her husband, Edgbert Ed Gantt, died
Aug. 25, 1990.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Services: Graveside, 2 p.m. Sunday, Chestnut Hill
Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Ronald Fink, pastor, Haven Lutheran Church.
Visitation: Following the service at the church.
At other times, the family will be at the home of a niece, Phyllis Carson, 428 W. Horah
St.

Robert Lee Hinson
KANNAPOLIS Robert Lee Hinson, 64, 1008
Mount Olivet Road, died Thursday (Nov. 4, 1999) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born Jan. 19, 1935, in Rowan County, Mr. Hinson
was the son of Pauline Holshouser Barringer, Kannapolis. He had retired in 1998 from the
data processing department at Fieldcrest Cannon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include wife
JoAnn Lorbacher Hinson; daughter Melanie Davis, Charlotte; son Bobby Hinson, Cornelius;
and two grandchildren.
Services: 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Whitleys Funeral
Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Norred. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 2:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home.
Dee Spielvogel Lingafelt
Deanna Dee Spielvogel Lingafelt, 59,
Salisbury, died Thursday (Nov. 4, 1999) at her home after two weeks of serious illness.
She had been in declining health for seven years.
Born Feb. 15, 1940, in Adams, N.D., Mrs. Lingafelt
was a daughter of Harold J. Spielvogel of Arcade, N.Y., and the late Earline G.
Spielvogel. Previously of Washington, D.C., she was assistant supervisor of future room
reservations for 13 years at the Shoreham Hotel and Motor Inn.
While in Salisbury, Mrs. Lingafelt was cashier at
Revco Drug Store and Zimmermans Department Store. She was a member of Second
Presbyterian Church.
Survivors, in addition to her father, include
husband Richard B. Lingafelt, whom she married Sept. 17, 1964; daughters Renae Lingafelt
Beeker, Salisbury, and Janice Lingafelt Beach, Newland; brothers Donald L. Spielvogel,
Arcade, N.Y., and the Rev. Kenneth L. Spielvogel, Manchester, Ohio; and one grandson.
Services: Graveside, 11 a.m. Monday, Rowan
Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Dan M. Thornton, pastor of Second Presbyterian
Church.
Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Summersett Funeral

Lawson McConneaughey Jr.
Lawson Alexander McConneaughey Jr., 640
Barber-Lyerly Road, died Thursday (Nov. 4, 1999) at Davis Community Medical Center in
Statesville. He had been in declining health for several years.
Born in Rowan County, Mr. McConneaughey was the
son of the late Janie Gaither and Lawson A. McConneaughey. Educated in the Salisbury
schools, he graduated from Price High School and attended Livingstone College. He had
retired in 1989 from Hoechst Celanese, where he was a warehouse worker. He was also a
registered barber.
Mr. McConneaughey was a member of Mount Vernon
Presbyterian Church and a former member of Moores Chapel AME Zion Church. He served
in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include wife Ruth Lyerly McConneaughey;
daughter Ruth A. McConneaughey, of the home; and sisters Dorothy Laurissa Gaither and Vida
M. Germany, both of Salisbury.
The family will meet at the home on Barber-Lyerly
Road. Mitchell & Fair Funeral Service is in charge.
