| KANNAPOLIS A Friday night crime
spree left a 15- and a 22-year-old man in custody this morning, two women sexually
assaulted and robbed, and six other men robbed.
Police charged Inmer Josue Santos
Fuentes, 22, of 1536 Varsity Drive in Raleigh, with one count of second degree kidnapping,
two counts of first degree sexual offense and six counts of robbery with a dangerous
weapon.
Police charged a 15-year-old
juvenile with five counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of first-degree
forcible rape.
Fuentes is being held in the
Cabarrus County Jail under a $500,000 bond. Police sent the juvenile to Gaston Juvenile
Correctional Center in Dallas, N.C.
Before 11 p.m. Friday night, three
women were sitting in their living room at Sears Street Apartments, watching television.
After hearing a knock on the door and opening it, one of the men allegedly flashed a
handgun and said this is a stick up, said Sgt. Bryan Ritchie.
One of the men took a woman to a
back room where he robbed and sexually assaulted her, according to the police report.
The juvenile remained in the
living room with the two other women, whom he robbed, according to Ritchie.
Meanwhile, six male friends of the
women knocked on the door. The suspect hid the gun and allowed the men in, Ritchie said.
Upon entry, the man flashed the
handgun and robbed all of the men and tied several of them up, Ritchie said.
The juvenile stayed with the men
while Fuentes allegedly went back to the other room and continued assaulting the woman.
The two suspects later switched
places, and the juvenile raped and sexually assaulted one of the women, according to
Ritchie.
Police arrived on the scene after
receiving a call about men with guns. After some checking and trying to get someone to the
door, police discovered the two females in the apartment crying.
An officer who could speak Spanish
was on the scene and told everyone in the apartment to come out. Everyone came out but the
two suspects. After police found out the two suspects remained inside, they went in and
arrested them without incident, Ritchie said.
Police found that the two
allegedly had taken about $750 and 500 pesos from all the victims.
Police charged Fuentes with
kidnapping, Ritchie said, because tying someone up and restraining them is a form of
kidnapping.
Police charged the juvenile with
rape because it was the more serious offense.
The magistrate set a $500,000 bond
for Fuentes because he is from Raleigh and the seriousness of the charges. You
can always suspect flight when the charges are extremely serious, Ritchie
said.
Fuentes is scheduled to appear
before a judge Tuesday. The juvenile likely will have his first appearance in juvenile
court Friday. |
