ALBEMARLE Lloyd Keith
Dennis, 73, 1696 Blanch St., died Tuesday (Dec. 14, 1999) at his home.
Born Sept. 24, 1926, in Stanly
County, he was a son of the late Marshall William and Zora Belle Burris Dennis. A U.S.
Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theatre. He was a section foreman
for Wiscassett Mills.
Survivors include wife Ruby Orill
Sides Dennis; daughter Linda Dennis Russell, Monroe; brothers Benny and Terry Dennis, both
of Troy, and Hoyle Buster Dennis, Mount Gilead; sister Evelyn Hurt, Albemarle;
and two grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, White
Crest Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Danny Laws and the Rev. Jerry Crisco. Burial,
Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Kimberly Michelle Black
The funeral will be Friday for
Kimberly Michelle Kim Black, 29, 1614 Standish St., who died Monday (Dec. 13,
1999) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Born March 10, 1970, in Rowan
County, she was a daughter of Paul E. Black Sr. and Betty Eller Black of 505 Division
Ave., East Spencer. A 1988 graduate of North Rowan High School, she was a member of the
band and a flag girl. She attended Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Last employed by
KOSA, she was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors, in addition to her
parents, include son Dwon N. Still, Salisbury; daughter Kira L. Still, Salisbury; brothers
Paul E. Black Jr., Jacksonville, Fla., and Barry K. and Jonathan R. Black, both of East
Spencer; and paternal grandmother Eula Mae Black, East Spencer.

Winfred H. Fred Cowan
FORT WAYNE, Ind. Winfred H.
FredCowan, 70, Fort Wayne, died Friday (Dec. 10, 1999) at his home.
Born Sept. 30, 1929, in Cleveland,
N.C., Mr. Cowan was a son of Mae Savory, Bronx, N.Y. He retired from Dana Corporation in
1993 after 25 years and was working part-time security at the Fort Worth newspaper. A
member of Union Baptist Church for over 36 years, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
His wife, Ruby Inez Cowan,
preceded him in death.
Survivors, in addition to his
mother, include sons Marvin D. Cowan, Fort Wayne, and Michael A. Cowan, Lafayette, Colo.;
daughters Wanda A. Culbertson, Salisbury, N.C., and Mrs. Kerry (Diane)Hess, Fort Wayne;
brother Joel Brown, Washington, N.Y.; sisters Evelyn Rustin, Bronx, N.Y., and Bertha
Stevenson, Greensboro, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
