Ozone Season Is Here

The ozone season is upon us again. It runs from March 31 to October 31.

Daily air quality forecasts are available by subscribing to emails at www.EnviroFlash.info, checking the forecast at www.ncair.org or calling the telephone hotline 1-888-RUN4NCAIR.The color-coded forecasts show whether air quality is likely to be good (green), moderate (yellow), unhealthy for sensitive groups (orange) or unhealthy (red).

Meteorologists issue the air quality forecasts at 3 p.m. every day for the following day. On Code Orange and Red days, the forecasts also suggest things people can do to protect their health and reduce air pollution, such as driving less.
