5 teens recuperating

BY JENNIFER MOXLEY
SALISBURY POST

The five teen-agers injured in Friday’s head-on collision are doing better after a weekend of recuperating.

The accident happened on White Road at Lyerly Road. Sgt. S.F. Small of the N.C. Highway Patrol said a 1989 Honda driven by Tiffany Nicole Smith, 16, 2005 East Ave., Kannapolis, crossed the center line.

The Honda had three passengers: Ethan H. Sides, 16, 210 Tanglewood Drive, Kannapolis; Jeremy T. Gibson, 16, 614 Harry St., China Grove; and Ebony S. Jones, 17, 509 N. Chapel St., Landis. The driver and the passengers were all treated and released from Rowan Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 1992 Honda, was Brandon James Stamper, 19, 210 Heglar Road, Mooresville. He was flown to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, where he is listed in satisfactory condition.

Smith and her passengers were going to the West Rowan football game, according to Small.

Charges are still pending.
