There was truly a celebration on Celebration Drive in Salisbury Sunday afternoon.Habitat for Humanity of Rowan County dedicated the new home
for Sheila Smith and her young son, Justin, during a ceremony at 910 Celebration Drive, in
Habitats new Forest Creek subdivision.
Edwin and Judy Norvell, who sponsored the
Smiths new home, were also honored during the dedication.
Many volunteers helped with the construction and
the labor for several weeks to ensure the Smith family would be ready to move into their
new three-bedroom home, which was finished even before the construction was originally
scheduled to begin.
Sheila Smiths family nurturers, Ernest and
Frances McCray, said the house was truly a blessing.
We were not supposed to start on Mrs.
Smiths house until August, but it was finished by that time, explained Frances
McCray, who said Smith was a lovely person and wonderful to work with.
Its been a real blessing for the
family and truly a wonderful experience for us.
Smith and her son are scheduled to move into their
new home some time today. The Smiths home is the third in the Forest Creek
subdivision.
