David Junior Fisher
The funeral will be Friday for David Junior
Fisher, 79, Salisbury, who died Tuesday (Aug. 24, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center
after a period of declining health.
Survivors include wife Marie Hartman Fisher, whom
he married May 10, 1942; sons Robert D. and Don W. Fisher, both of Salisbury; brothers
Ralph C. and James H. Fisher, both of Salisbury; eight grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Lyerly Funeral

Landmark Church, and the Rev. Jerry Snipes, associate pastor. Burial, Kannapolis City

Clarence Ray Burton
The funeral will be Friday for Clarence Ray
Burton, 53, 220 Mitchell Ave., who died Monday (Aug. 23, 1999) at his home after a lengthy
illness.
Born June 23, 1946, in Rowan County, Mr. Burton
attended R.A. Clement High School, Cleveland. Retired from Duke Power Co.s Buck
Steam Plant, he was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife Gloria C. Burton; and
sisters Cottie Bess Wilson, Laurelton, N.Y., Gertrude B. Davis and Patricia B. Cowan, both
of Salisbury, Margaret B. Honors and Willie Mae Burton, both of Charlotte, and Bettye B.
Kirkland, Durham.
Services: Noon Friday, First Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Leamon Brown. Burial,
Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation: 11 a.m.-noon Friday at the church. At
other times the family will be at the home of Jessie Childers, 128 Floral Avenue.

Veneta Lou Shore, 82, Wellington Hills, died
Thursday (Aug. 26, 1999) at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation.

Mae Hinson Carelock
KANNAPOLIS The funeral will be Friday for
Mae Hinson Carelock, 83, 1005 Austin Ave., who died Tuesday (Aug. 24, 1999) at NorthEast
Medical Center, Concord.
Born April 14, 1916, in Iredell County, Mrs.
Carelock was the daughter of the late Archie and Ella Smith Hinson. She had worked at
Cannon Mills Co., No. 4, cloth room, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Her husband, Ernest Carelock, died in 1985.
Survivors include daughters Mrs. Porter (Joanne) Bryson, Thomasville, and Mrs. Bobby (Faye) McDaniel,
Kannapolis; brothers James and Larry Hinson, both of Kannapolis; six grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Calvary Baptist Church,
conducted by the Rev. Tom Tucker. The body will be placed in
the church at 1:30. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Lois Corine Thompson Shelby, 91, Salisbury, died
Thursday (Aug. 26, 1999) at Autumn Care of Salisbury.

Peggy Dull Elmore
MOCKSVILLE The funeral was today for Peggy
Dull Elmore, 60, N.C. 801 North, who died Monday (Aug. 23, 1999) at Davie County Hospital
after several months of declining health.
Born Sept. 17, 1938, in Davie County, Mrs. Elmore
was the daughter of the late Charlie Spack and Beulah
Dixon Dull. A graduate of Farmington High School, she attended Draughns Business School
and was employed by Ingersol-Rand. She was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church, where
she was church pianist.
Survivors include husband Clarence G. Elmore; sons
Timmy Gene and Willie Clarence Elmore, both of Mocksville; daughter Mrs. Rick (Robin)
Myers, Mocksville; brother Roger Dull, Mocksville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 this morning at
Bear Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Cecil Wetherholt, the Rev. Jack Johnson and the Rev.
Grady Tutterow officiated. The body was placed in the church at 10:30. Burial was in the
church cemetery.
Eaton Funeral Home was in charge.

Eunice Kluttz Walter
ROCKWELL The funeral will be Friday for
Eunice Kluttz Walter, 82, 6248 Irish Potato Road, who died Tuesday (Aug. 24, 1999) at her
home.
Born Sept. 14, 1916, in Cabarrus County, Mrs.
Walter was a daughter of the late Paul William and Lizzie Rose Rinehardt Kluttz. Educated
in the Cabarrus County schools, she was a homemaker and a member of Mount Mitchell United
Methodist Church.
A son, Kenneth Walter, died in 1943.
Survivors include husband York Walter; sons
Spencer Sam Walter and David Pete Walter, both of Kannapolis, Bill Walter, Mount Pleasant, and Harold Walter,
Rockwell; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Friday, Mount Mitchell United
Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ray Guy and the Rev. David Duncan. Burial, church
cemetery.

MOORESVILLE Joseph Coskie J.C.
Cline Jr., 73, Linwood Road, died Tuesday (Aug. 24, 1999) at Lake Norman Regional Medical
Center.
Born June 12, 1926, in Mooresville, Mr. Cline was
a son of the late Joseph Coskie Cos and Mary Moose Cline. Retired from
Templon-Chempsun, he was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
A daughter, Barbara Ann Bobbie Cline,
preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife Mary Byers Cline, whom he
married Aug. 5, 1944; son Joseph C. Cline III, Mooresville; daughter Sandy C. Kennedy,
Statesville; and sisters Christine C. Moss, Mooresville, and Betty C. Mills, Orlando, Fla.

HIGH POINT Pearl Honeycutt Hedrick, 82,
Genesis ElderCare of Salisbury, formerly of 628 E. Lexington Ave., died Tuesday (Aug. 24,
1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born March 29, 1917, in Cabarrus County, Mrs.
Hedrick was the daughter of the late George D. and Florence Drye Hedrick. Retired from
Adams Millis Hosiery Mill, she was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
Her husband, John Robert Hedrick, died Dec. 14,
1977.
Survivors include sons Darius N. Hedrick, Gold
Hill, and Robert L. Hedrick, High Point; brother Troy Honeycutt, Adelphi, Md.; and four
grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church Chapel,
