George Sifford

The funeral will be Saturday for George Sifford, 66, 1005 Hawkinstown Road, who died Wednesday (Aug. 19, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after a year of declining health and two weeks of serious illness.

He was born April 20, 1933. Mr. Sifford was a former member of the Jubilee Chorus of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Boyden Quarters.

Survivors include stepson Willie Thomas Mitchell, Salisbury.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Mount Zion Baptist Church, Boyden Quarters, conducted by the Rev. David S. Houston. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Dr. J. Henry Foushee

Dr. J. Henry Smith Foushee, 76, 748 Barnsdale Road, Winston-Salem, formerly of South Fulton Street, died Thursday (Aug. 19, 1999) at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.

Summersett Funeral Home is in charge.

 

Martin Smith

ROCKWELL — Martin Smith, 67, 504 Depot St., died Thursday (Aug. 19, 1999) at the Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury after four years of declining health and three months of serious illness.

Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Salisbury, is in charge.

 

Jodie Rogers Morales

KANNAPOLIS — Jodie Louise Rogers Morales, 81, 628-B Oval St., died Thursday (Aug. 19, 1999) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

Born July 1, 1918, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Morales was a daughter of the late Joe and Ula Stallings Rogers. Formerly employed by Cannon Mills and Corriher Mills, she had retired in 1989. She was of the Church of God faith.

He husband, Victor M. Morales, preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters Vickie Gulledge, Lydia Watson and Carmen Weaver, all of Kannapolis; sister Minnie Euart, Faith; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Andrew Ball. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

Shiver Lee McCraw

SPENCER — Shiver Lee McCraw, 82, Spencer, died Thursday (Aug. 19, 1999) at Naile Clinic, Charlotte.

Willie Lee Pepper

Willie Lee Pepper, 84, Salisbury, died Thursday (Aug. 19, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
