Milton Bernard Angel


WINSTON-SALEM - Milton Bernard Angel, 79, 114 Flintfield Drive, father of Bernice Angel Honeycutt, Salisbury, died Tuesday (Aug. 10, 1999) at his home.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel, Clemmons.

Visitation: 7:30-8:30 tonight, Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

Revie Jordan Addison, 105

KANNAPOLIS - The funeral will be Friday for Revie Jordan Addison, 105, All Saints Nursing Home, Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Kannapolis and Mooresville, who died Sunday (Aug. 8, 1999) at the nursing home.

Born May 15, 1894, in Franklin County, Ga., Mrs. Addison was a daughter of the late John Walton and Fannie Beatenbough Jordan. She retired from Cannon Mills Plant 1 washcloth department.

Survivors include daughters Monteen Raper, Mooresville, and Mavourneen "Candy" Hawkins, Jacksonville, Fla.; sister Casey Roach, Kannapolis; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Beaver Johnson

LANDIS - Mary Beaver Johnson, 91, 411 S. Beaver St., died Tuesday (Aug. 10, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, Landis, is in charge.

Ruby Flowe

KANNAPOLIS - Ruby Owensby Flowe, 90, formerly of McKnight Street, died Tuesday (Aug. 10, 1999) at Big Elm Nursing Home.
Born June 10, 1909, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Flowe was a daughter of the late John and Lennie Thornburg Owensby. She retired from Cannon Mills.

Her husband, James A. Flowe, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a niece and three nephews.

Services: Entombment, 11 a.m. Thursday, Carolina Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. James Masters.

Visitation: 10-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Lady's Funeral Home.

Memorials: Big Elm Retirement Center, 1285 W. A St., Kannapolis, N.C. 28081.

Ethel Millner Johnson

The funeral will be Thursday for Ethel Millner Johnson, 87, 403 Vance Ave., who died Monday (Aug. 9, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after eight weeks of serious illness.

Born Sept. 5, 1911, in Halifax County, Va., Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Alex C. and Lou Hannie Robey Millner. A homemaker, she was member of Spruce Street Missionary Baptist Church, Lexington.

A son, Robert Wayne McDaniel, preceded her in death.

Survivors include husband Henry Johnson; daughter Mrs. Clarence (Pencye) Compton, Salisbury; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Spruce Street Missionary Baptist Church, Lexington, conducted by the Rev. Noah Frye, pastor, and the Rev. Cecil Goodman. Burial, Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury.

Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Summersett Funeral Home.

Jimmie Wesley Morris

GOLD HILL - Jimmie Wesley Morris, 39, Mooresville, formerly of Gold Hill, died Tuesday (Aug. 10, 1999) at his home.

Eugene Stephen Kelley

Eugene Stephen Kelley, 72, Salisbury, died Tuesday (Aug. 10, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Sarah Kathryn Grubb Scott

SPENCER - Sarah Kathryn Grubb Scott, 84, 1019 Third St., died Tuesday (Aug. 10, 1999) at her home after five years of declining health.

Born May 27, 1915, in Davidson County, Mrs. Scott was a daughter of the late John Ray and Mary Ellen Styers Grubb. Educated in the Spencer schools, she was a 1932 graduate of Spencer High School. She was a homemaker. She had been employed by Rayless Department Store and numerous other department stores prior to her 1980 retirement. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Salisbury.

Survivors include husband Robert Lee Scott, whom she married in 1935; son Bobby Gene Scott, Linville; daughter Judy S. Grissom, Salisbury; brother John Ray Grub Jr., Salisbury; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services: Graveside, 11 a.m. Thursday, Rowan Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Judith L. White, associate pastor, First United Methodist Church, Salisbury.

Visitation:7-8 tonight, Summersett Funeral Home, Salisbury.

Memorials: First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Church St., Salisbury, N.C. 28144.

Robert Maxton Speight

ALBEMARLE - Robert Maxton Speight, 84, 709 N. Fourth St., died Tuesday (Aug. 10, 1999) at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

Born Oct. 14, 1914, in Stanly County, Mr. Speight was a son of the late Daniel Solomon and Mary Katherine Eudy Speight. A member of Fairview Baptist Church, he retired from Wiscassett Mill Co.

His wife, Ramelle Corriher Speight, preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons Clegg Speight, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Robert Speight, Trinity, John Speight, Atlanta, Ga., and Danny Speight, Albemarle; daughters Juanita Wagner, Maryland, and Sheila Moss, Albemarle; sisters Lila Mae Stallings, Albemarle, and Marie Hopkins, Cheraw, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Fairview Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Delaine Burris. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial, Fairview Memorial Park.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Stanly Funeral Home.
