CHARLESTON, S.C. Piedmont finished its road trip on the sourest of sour notes on
Sunday night, losing 2-1 to the Charleston RiverDogs (23-19) and enduring a rain delay of
two hours, 20 minutes.It
was Piedmonts fourth straight loss on a road trip that ended with a disappointing
2-5 mark.
Piedmont (20-21) couldnt hit
enough to back the strong pitching of hard-luck hurler Carlos Silva, who fell to 9-7,
despite allowing just six hits and one earned run in eight innings.
Uriel Casillas and Wil Polidor had
two hits each for the Weevils.
Piedmont returns home tonight to
take on Hickory. |
