SALISBURY — Police were trying to piece together events that led to the shooting of a young man in the Harrison Street-South Fulton Street area Saturday night.

Police were called to 809 S. Fulton St. around 7:30 p.m. Saturday to assist a 20-year-old man shot in the head. Lt. J.M. Robertson, who could not confirm the man’s age or release his identity, said the victim had been transferred to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center later Saturday night.

The man had been shot in the left temporal area of the head, according to emergency traffic. “As far as we know, he’s OK,” Robertson said.

Police set up their investigation along West Harrison Street, and Robertson declined to release details because officers were still working the scene and looking for any kind of evidence they could find.
