The Salisbury Brass will play a benefit concert for Rowan Helping Ministries at 7 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 24, in the sanctuary of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 W. Innes St., in downtown Salisbury.

The free event takes place during Downtown Salisbury’s Night Out. The concert will include a wide variety of musical selections from the Baroque, Classical, Contemporary, Pops and Jazz periods.

The group has had a long-standing relationship with St. John’s that goes back at least 25 years, with the musicians appearing for festival Sundays and other special occasions.

“It’s exciting for our congregation that they’re willing to come and give of their time,” says Rob Durocher, minister of music. “This shows they have a tremendous heart for Rowan Helping Ministries. We want people to come out and support the Salisbury Brass, and to support Rowan Helping Ministries, while enjoying an evening of good music and good fellowship.”

The Rev. Rhodes Woolly is senior pastor.
