The N.C. Highway Patrol says a woman died on the way to the hospital following a three-car wreck on Jake Alexander Boulevard near Harrison Road this afternoon.
The woman’s name was not available this evening. The trooper who investigated the crash is not available, according to a Highway Patrol dispatcher.
Two other people were taken to the hospital after the wreck.
Two of the injured were in one of the vehicles, according to emergency services personnel on the scene. The extent of their injuries was unclear.
The driver the third vehicle, a truck, was not injured.
Early reports indicated one of the injured people was pinned inside a vehicle and responders were performing CPR.
