A Salisbury man faces a felony charge after he was accused of taking money from Biscuitville, where he worked. Authorities said the manager provided a restaurant surveillance video of the man taking cash from a money bag inside an office.

Salisbury Police charged Perrell Laquarius Brown, 22, of the 100 block of Emerson Lane, with felony larceny by employee. The incident occurred Saturday and police charged Brown on Tuesday.

The manager counted money from the safe and the bag was left on a desk when the manager and other employees walked out, officials said Brown took $205 from the bag. The manager, seeing that the bag was left out, later placed it back into the safe. The staff discovered the discrepancy the next morning. The manager looked at the video and saw Brown take the money.

Brown remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond. Brown was convicted in 2011 of misdemeanor larceny and in 2010 of misdemeanor financial card fraud. In both cases, Brown was given probation.
