The Department of History and Political Science at Livingstone College will host a public forum Thursday for discussion and debate among the candidates for the Salisbury-Rowan Board of Education. The forum will be from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
The purpose of the event is to educate Livingstone students on the role of the school board in the community and to encourage them to participate in the electoral process. A 10-minute documentary on the history of voting in North Carolina will be presented at 5:45 p.m.
Members of the West End Community associations have also been invited to participate in this event.
The event will be held in the Hilliard Room of the Hood Building on Livingstone’s campus. The public is invited, and light refreshments will be served.
