The Rufty-Holmes Senior Center will present a free seminar to inform and assist anyone in Rowan County interested learning more about Medicare.
The seminar will be held at the Center 7 p.m. Oct. 13, and will be led by Jeanie Schepisi, regional manager for the N.C. Department of Insurance Seniors Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP).
The seminar will answer questions about how and when to enroll in Medicare; the various parts of Medicare — hospitalization, physician-coverage and Part D-drug plans. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and obtain detailed assistance for their own situations. Participants will be able to schedule free appointments with certified SHIIP counselors to assist with enrollment and planning.
All are welcome: Medicare recipients; those about to enroll, and children of parents who may need assistance with Medicare issues, etc. For more information and to sign up to attend, call the Center at 704-216-7718.
