Mayors to attend RCCC planning session

Mayors from Rowan and Cabarrus counties will attend Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s strategic planning session, along with the Rowan and Cabarrus chambers of commerce and RowanWorks, prior to the college’s Board of Trustees meeting Monday.
During the strategic conversation, the college will continue discussions on its 2015-18 strategic plan and the 2014 Cabarrus County bond referendum for the Advanced Technology Center.
The Board of Trustees meeting will include recognition of the 2013-2014 Excellence in Teaching Award recipients, Carol Beaver and Tabelech Shipp, as well as recognition of some equipment donations to the new Fire & Emergency Services training grounds.
Marty Richards, the new Rowan-Cabarrus Foundation director, will be introduced, and the finance and investment, institutional advancement and legislative committees will make presentations. In addition, information on the Cabarrus County bond referendum will be presented.
The Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Board of Trustees will meet Monday at 3 p.m. in the boardroom of the college’s building at the North Carolina Research Campus.
The college’s facility is located at 399 Biotechnology Lane in Kannapolis.
