Auditions for Polar Express on Sunday

Published 12:00 am Monday, September 22, 2014

Auditions will be held Sunday, Sept. 28, at Lee Street Theater from 3-5 p.m. for those who would like to be the first to perform in central North Carolina’s premiere of The Polar Express Train Ride.
The North Carolina Transportation Museum serves as the backdrop and the museum’s vintage diesel engines will be pulling the Polar Express Train Ride to the North Pole.
Performances will take place Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and some weeknights, Nov. 28 through Dec. 2. Shifts begin at 3 p.m. and conclude at 9:30 p.m. Each participant will be given two invitations to preview/media night on Nov. 22. Those participants are welcome to invite two guests to share in The Polar Express Train Ride (a $60 value).
There will be casting 24-30 roles for Chris VanAllsburg’s classic tale. This is an ensemble cast and all performers will receive a small stipend based upon the role. The rehearsal commitment is minimal; the performance commitment is significant. There will be a schedule established so actors will not be required to work every night. However, missing a scheduled shift without prior approval is grounds for immediate dismissal.
Send an electronic head shot and resume to Lee Street theatre at info@leestreet.org
