Local pianist and vocalist Marc Hoffman has been awarded the GigMasters’ Best of 2013. The awards are given to performers who received at least five reviews with four stars or more during 2013.
Hoffman’s recent performances include performances by the Lake Norman Symphony, the Salisbury Symphony, an annual piano concert at Ashe Civic Center in West Jefferson, and an invitation-only concert in Charleston, SC.
He recently scored the films, “Chancing Dreams” and “40 Fears” for Charlotte-based Dalliance Films. Previous film work includes the score for “The Mill.” Hoffman has been music supervisor for several films and was music historian for the Hugh Hudson film, “Revolution.”

The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Salisbury Alumnae Chapter will have Jabberwock Orientation Sunday, Feb, 2 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Caldwell St,, at 3 p.m. Participants and contestants should be elementary or middle school age children, between the ages of 5-13 years, both male and female.
