The Iredell County Veterans Council will present at Thank You Festival — A Celebration Honoring Our Veterans, on Saturday, Sept. 20,
The event will be 2-6 p.m. at the Iredell County Fairgrounds and will include speakers, food and veteran service vendors.
The speakers will include Major Gen. James Mallory, Col. Joseph Crosswhite and Gen. Frank Panter Jr. There will also be a flag retirement ceremony at the end of the program,
Music will feature national recording artist Rockie Lynne, who is a veteran and was raised in Iredell County. Dale Beatty and his band, Outlaw 21, will also entertain. Beatty lost both legs during his service in Iraq.
The Veterans Council is also sponsoring a “Thank-you Veterans” poster contest for the schools.
RumbleQuake III, an event to honor veterans in 11 counties around the Iredell area, will take place on Nov. 8, with a special focus on Vietnam veterans.
