The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Salisbury man late last week on more than a dozen different sex crime charges.
Donald Ray Clonch, 25, 7350 Blackwelder Road, Salisbury, was arrested Friday and charged with 11 counts of indecent liberties with a child and three counts of first degree sexual offense, according to warrants.
Warrants stated that Clonch’s alleged activity occurred over a period of two years, from Jan. 1, 2011, to Dec. 31, 2013.
Clonch allegedly had sex with a female who was younger than 13, according to warrants. He was booked into jail on Sept. 12, 2014, warrants stated.
Multiple Rowan County Sheriff’s Office officials said they were unable on Sunday to comment on Clonch’s alleged criminal activity. Sheriff’s office spokesman John Sifford said he would have more details about the arrest today.
Clonch’s total bail was set at $153,000. Jail records show Clonch is also charged with failure to appear or comply.
He remained in the Rowan County Detention Center on Sunday under bail.
