A Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputy on Wednesday found two knives and a joint in a West Rowan High School parking lot.
The deputy issued citations to Brittany Savannah Cole, 18, at the school for possessing a weapon on campus or other educational property.
The arrest report states that an unnamed female student left West Rowan High shortly after class started in a red truck.
The arrest report states that sheriff’s deputy Ryan Walker spotted the truck entering West Rowan’s parking lot and subsequently asked the driver about the earlier incident. The driver — Cole — responded that she was at a friend’s house.
In his report, Walker said he contacted West Rowan assistant principal Chris Walters before searching the truck. Inside, Walker found two large knives and a joint, according to his report.
Neither the passenger nor Cole were arrested for the incident.
