Music on the Mountain

Cheerwine and Friends of the Mountain present Music on the Mountain 2014 on Saturday at Dunn’s Mountain Nature and History Preserve.
The event features folk and acoustic music by Bob Trice, gospel music by The Chapeleers and bluegrass and gospel by Matthew Weaver and the Edwards family.
A special treat for the kids will be My Animal Guy, with Jerry, Jackie and Sophia Phelps along with their cool creature guests.
Admission is free. Bring lawn chairs and a picnic and plan to stay for the whole afternoon. Drinks are available on the mountain.
Overflow parking is at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle on Stokes Ferry Road and shuttle srvice will be provided for tbose who choose not to hike the short trail.
With a donation from Friends of the Mountain and a Parks & Recreation trust fund grant plus the generosity of The Land Trust for Central North Carolina, this property was officially dedicated and opened to the Rowan County public on Nov. 29, 2006.
It includes 83 acres of land protected under a Conservation Easement with the Land Trust for Central North Carolina.
