Police say an argument inside a local restaurant escalated between a couple and sent one man to the hospital for a stab wound.
Salisbury Police charged Evone Antoinette Myrie, 34, of the 100 block of Ridge Avenue, Salisbury, with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
A report said the two were at Applebee’s restaurant Saturday with another woman, believed to be Myrie’s aunt. Witnesses said Myrie and her boyfriend, James Lawrence Kesler, argued while inside the restaurant.
Kesler paid the bill and walked outside. The two began arguing again while outside, a report said.
According to the report, Kesler pushed Myrie back when she got in his face. She is accused of stabbing Kesler in the upper thigh with a Swiss Army style knife. He was taken by ambulance to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Myrie was arrested at the scene.
Myrie was originally given a $10,000 bond, but authorities later decided her case was domestic in nature so she was required to be held in the Rowan County Detention Center for at least 48 hours.
Myrie was also charged with a misdemeanor failure to appear for an April 25 warrant.
