Sheriff Kevin Auten says Prevent Child Abuse Rowan has added $5,000 to the reward for information leading to the location of Erica Parsons. Child Abuse Rowan is a local advocacy group.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is also adding an additional $10,000, to the original $10,000 that the Sheriff’s Office had already put forth. With these additions, the total award for information leading to the location of Erica now stands at $50,000 — $25,000 from FBI, $20,000 from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, $5,000 from Prevent Child Abuse Rowan.
Sheriff Kevin Auten has no planned briefing on the arrest of Casey and Sandy Parsons. He says in a press release that he would like to emphasize that this was an important step in the ongoing investigation of the missing persons case, but the search goes on. The Sheriff’s Office along with the NC SBI, and the FBI continue the investigation to locate Erica.
Auten stated, “It should be apparent that the events that have taken place today led to the decision to cancel the media briefing scheduled for yesterday, at 2 p.m. We would like to thank those media outlets that chose to report these ongoing developments in a professional manner, and urge all outlets to make notification of the award amount that is now $50,000.”
Anyone with information as to the location of Erica Parsons should contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, 1st. Lt. Chad Moose, 704-216-8687, or Investigator Sara Benfield, 704-216-8739.
