Heinous and cowardly
The Salisbury Post, with an editorial cartoon on Thursday, July 24, seems to suggest that the Israel bombing of Hamas may be more heinous and cowardly than the use of human shields by Hamas. Nothing about the editorial cartoon is remotely morally rational.
Using captured enemy forces or civilians for shields is just about as low as human behavior gets. The only thing that could be closer to absolute zero degree moral temperature would be be to use your own friends, neighbors and family (those we in civilization refer to as “loved ones”) to hide behind while firing rockets at someone else’s loved ones. That is exactly what Hamas is doing. Schools and hospitals seem to be favorites from which Hamas will do its dirty work.
Israel attempts to notify civilians of its plan to dispose of the weapons, and has been able to keep noncombatant casualties to a minimum.
The media needs to grow some boldface typesets and publish the truth, instead of cowing to propagandists.
