The N.C. Highway Patrol has identified the victim in Thursday’s deadly mo-ped crash on U.S. 70 as Faustino Lopez, of Charlotte.
First Sergeant F.C. Ferguson of the Highway Patrol reported Lopez’s name Sunday. No further information on the crash was reported.
The collision occurred about 9:35 p.m. on eastbound U.S. 70 between Salisbury and Cleveland.
According to the Highway Patrol, on Thursday Lopez was traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes when he collided with a Buick driven by Jerry Earnhardt of Salisbury.
Lopez was reportedly found wearing a helmet.
