Rowan weather: Some relief in sight

After a very hot Sunday, we’ll get little relief today, with a high near 91 under mostly sunny skies. A hot southwest wind will blow at 7-10 mph. There’s only a 20 percent chance of rain, and Rowan is getting dry.
Tonight, there’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 71.
Today we’ll have a moderate air quality day, but look for improvement for Tuesday and Wednesday to good air quality. We also have a very high UV index of 10 today, so you will need to protect yourself.
Tuesday, the National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 1 p.m,, with a 60 percent chance of rain. They skies will be mostly cloudy with a high near 87, and winds from the west. A 50 percent chance of rain continues Tuesday night, with a low around 65.
Here’s when we’ll get a little break form the heat.
Don’t expect any showers Wednesday or most of Thursday. Wednesday will be partly sunny with a high near 85 and breezes from the north. Wednesday night’s low will be around 62, a nice, cool night.
Thursday will be partly sunny and near 84, with a 30 percent chance of showers creeping in Thursday night, with a low of 64.
Friday will be mostly cloudy and even less hot, with a high near 82 and a 30 percent chance of showers. Friday night, the chance of rain goes up to 40 percent, with a low around 66.
The weekend looks like typical summer weather: a 40 percent chance of showers and storms Saturday, high near 85 under mostly cloudy skies; Saturday night, another 40 percent chance of showers, with a low around 68.
Sunday, we’ll have another 40 percent chance of rain and storms and partly sunny skies with a high of 85.
