A Kannapolis man, Christian Blake Arnette, 18, of the 2200 block of Moose Road, has been charged with statutory rape.

On June 10, Stanly County Communications got an emergency 911 call about a possible rape that occurred in the western end of Stanly County. Sheriff’s deputies conducted an investigation and got warrants for the suspect after multiple interviews. Arnette was arrested and placed in the Cabarrus County Detention Facility on July 6,
He was given a $21,000 bond on charges of first-degree statutory rape of a child under 13 and indecent liberties with a child. Arnette’s first court date is July 14 in Albemarle District Court.
