Rowan weather: Rain likely today

High humidity and warm temperatures make for a sticky start to the day. As of 6:30 a.m., the humidity was a drenching 98 percent.
Don’t expect much improvement. Under mostly cloudy skies today, we have a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, which may start before lunch. High will be 86. Some storms could become severe today, with lots of lightning and damaging winds. There’s also the possibility of very heavy rainfall.
The chance of rain drops to 20 percent tonight, with a low around 67.
Thursday will be mostly sunny and 88, no chance of rain, but a 20 percent chance creeps in Thursday night, mainly before 9 p.m. The low will be around 67.
Friday, we’ll be near 90 degrees, with a mostly sunny sky and a 20 percent chance of precipitation. Calm winds will add to the general discomfort. Friday night, we can expect a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low around 68.
The weekend will sound really familiar — chance of rain, warm temperatures. Saturday’s high will be around 88, with a 40 percent chance of showers and storms after 11 a.m. Saturday night will have a low of 68 and 30 percent chance of showers.
Sunday, ho hum, 40 percent chance of showers and storms, high 87. Sunday night we can skip the rain and expect a low around 68.
Monday, hot, high of 89, 30 percent chance of storms. Monday night, 30 percent chance of rain, low of 69.
